Orkney Liberal Democrats Survey of Business Opinion
Looking ahead to the Scottish Parliament elections on 3rd May 2007, Orkney Liberal Democrats have carried out a wide-ranging survey of the views of local businesses. There was a good responses to this survey, the results of which were published earlier in the year. A copy of the final report, which has informed the drafting of the Scottish Liberal Democrat manifesto for the Holyrood elections, can be downloaded from this site along with the original survey.
In addition to the survey, Scottish Liberal Democrat Ministers for Enterprise, Nicol Stephen MSP and Transport, Tavish Scott MSP have held breakfast meetings with leading Orkney business representatives. Both sessions were well-attended, with many of the issues - particularly transport - reflecting the feedback from the survey responses.
Orkney businesses have been performing well across a number of sectors. However, Liberal Democrats recognise the need to continue to support this success and allow Orkney firms to compete effectively at a local, national and international level.
