13-08-2012 : Scotland's Governments Need to Work Closely Together to Solve Fuel Poverty
Commenting on latest figures which warn that fuel poverty might increase amongst Scottish households, Scottish Liberal Democrat energy spokesperson Liam McArthur MSP said:
“It is a scar on our conscience to know we are moving further from our target instead of closer. This is deeply unsettling and in order to resolve this, both of Scotland’s governments need to work closely together.
“Instead of blaming Westminster and crawling towards fuel poverty targets, there must be a step-change in the efforts of Scottish ministers which focuses on insulating Scotland’s homes.”
